This Saturday is Super Saturday at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse, and while there are three Group 1 races headlining the day’s proceedings, the Group 2 VRC Sires Produce Stakes will certainly draw some eyes.
Running as the first race of the day, the 2010 VRC Sires Produce Stakes is the first of nine to take place, and has 15 nominations.
One filly coming into the 2010 VRC Sires Produce Stakes on impressive form is the Peter Moody-trained Willow Creek. The two-year-old finished fourth in the high profile Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m), and as none of those who beat her are competing in the 2010 VRC Sires Produce Steaks, she may well succeed.
Coming into the 2010 VRC Sires Produce Stakes on impressive form is the Peter Moody-trained Willow Creek.
Trained by Stuart Webb, Yosei is another contender, after the filly finished as runner up in the Group 3 Breeders Stakes (1200m).
Other notable names are Legalistic and She’s Got Gears.
Also taking place on Saturday at the Flemington Racecourse is the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m), the Group 1 Australian Cup (1200m) and the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m).
