21 talented runners have been included in nominations for Saturday’s Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m) at Doomben; highlighted by the pending appearance of some of the country’s most exciting two-year-old prospects.

Blueberry Hill has contested a standout four start career so far and is primed for continued success at Doomben this weekend after being included in 2015 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes nominations.

Taking out a pair of minor Queensland sprints on debut, Blueberry Hill was unlucky to be blocked for a run rounding onto the final straight when second in the Group 3 Ken Russell Memorial Plate (1200m) on April 25th, but responded in the best way possible when taking out the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) a fortnight ago.

Wicked Intent ran on for a close second in the Champagne Classic first-up and is sure to have taken valuable condition from the hit-out leading into the 2015 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

The stable star of new trainer Chris Munce, Wicked Intent won his first three competitive starts, including the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes (1050m) at Doomben on December 13th.

Returning to the paddock after finishing second in the Group 3 McLachlan Stakes (1200m) and sixth in the Gold Coast Magic Millions 2.y.o Guineas (1200m), the Wicked Style colt looks good for a return to the winner’s circle on Saturday, but will need the track to remain relatively firm.

Pepperano ran second in the Gold Coast MM Guineas in January and placed third in her maiden black type; the Champagne Classic a fortnight ago.

Posting two wins and two minors from six competitive starts, the Court Command filly won the Caloundra Handicap (1000m) upon resuming this time and will be tough to beat at the weights on Saturday.

Counterattack is a leading fancy for the Group 1 J.J. Atkins (1600m) on June 6th and is sure to lay a great account for himself in stepping up to 1350m for the 2015 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

With form around some of the Autumn Carnival’s standout two-year-olds, Counterattack returned this time for success in a Warwick Farm minor over 1200m before running fourth in the Champagne Classic on May 9th.

Trainer Chris Waller has unearthed standouts Zoustar and Brazen Beau in the two most recent Winter Carnival two-year-old seasons and appears to again be on the money with Counterattack.

The 2015 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes final field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
