Frolic and Tulip finished second and third in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) a fortnight ago and have both been confirmed in the 2017 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes field.

Frolic debuted to racing for consecutive second-place finishes in each sprinters over 1150m and 1200m respectively, before posting her first race win in the Inglis Classic (1200m) on February 13th.

Delivering She Will Reign her first competitive defeat in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) on March 4th, Frolic’s performance for second in the Golden Slipper suggests that she will relish a step up to 1400m in the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Tulip immediately stamped herself as a filly to follow when she stormed home to win the 1Print Plate (1000m) on debut by two lengths, before running a handy second to Limestone in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Preview F (1000m) at Randwick on Australia Day.

Placing an impressive fourth in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at only her third career start, the daughter of Pierro posted a maiden black type win in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) on March 11th, in what was her only other start prior to the Golden Slipper.

Drawn ideally in barrier 2, Tulip will be partnered by Kerrin McEvoy when she takes her position in the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes field.

Gerald Ryan has confirmed talented stable mates Chauffeur, Trapeze Artist and Menari in the 2017 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes field, while Peter and Paul Snowden are also set to launch a multi-pronged attack in the form of Gunnison and Invader.

Paul Perry saddled The Mission to a big upset in the Group 3 The Schweppervescence (1400m) last weekend and the colt should again prove difficult to beat when he contests the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

The Mission returned to racing for second in a Newcastle minor over 900m on February 7th, before running third in the Digga Maiden Plate (1300m) on Wyong on February 23rd.

Placing fourth in the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) in his only other start prior to The Schweppervescence, the Choisir colt may require some luck to find the pace early in the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes from barrier 9.
