Golden Slipper runner-up Frolic remains a firm $4.50 favourite in 2017 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Tulip ($5) and Menari ($8.50).

Will Frolic justify favouritism and win the 2017 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes, or will one of her talented rivals post an upset?

1st

Tulip ($5)

Tulip has been a strong and consistent performer through a short but impressive racing career and should be right in the finish of the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes. Winning her debut race with complete ease on New Year’s Eve, the Pierro filly ran second in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) and fourth in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond (1200m), before taking out the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) on March 11th. Last seen running on for third in the Golden Slipper, Tulip is drawn well, will be partnered by Kerrin McEvoy and should prove extremely tough to beat in the Sires’ Produce on Saturday.

2nd

Invader ($10)

Invader was unlucky to be scratched from the Golden Slipper field and the colt appears to have the class to make a real impact in a race like the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes. Resuming this time for second to From Within in the TAB Plate (1100m) at Canterbury, the Snitzel colt ran a credible fifth in the Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) on January 14th before storming home to win the Chris Toogood Handicap (1200m) on February 15th. Last seen finishing second in the Group 2 Todman Stakes (1200m) on March 4th, Invader has the notable advantage of Hugh Bowman in the saddle and could receive the run of the race from barrier 4.

3rd

Frolic ($4.50)

Frolic is yet to finish outside the first three through her five career starts so far and she appears as though she will relish a step up to 1400m this weekend. A proven wet track performer, Frolic became the first horse to deliver subsequent Golden Slipper champion She Will Reign her first defeat when she flew home to win the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) a fortnight prior to the world’s richest race for two-year-olds. Frolic has been charged with overcoming a wide draw, but will be partnered by regular hoop Tommy Berry when she takes her position in the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes field.
