The Chris Waller-trained Pressday claimed victory in the $250,000 Group 2 BRC Sire’s Produce Stakes (1400m) on Saturday at Eagle Farm, and now looks set to make it a clean sweep in the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival’s two-year-old treble.

Pressday looks set to make it a clean sweep in the Brisbane two-year-olds treble

Pressday, the warm $2.70 favourite, had a perfectly timed run in the BRC Sire’s Produce, making his move on the turn home to run down the early leaders and secure a tidy one length victory ahead of Jesse’s Girl ($5) with Levi’s Choice running a gallant third just a further short-neck back.

Domesday colt Pressday now boasts three wins from five starts including his success in the Group 2 Champagne Classic at his previous start, and will next contest the $500, 000 Group 1 TJ Smith (1600m) this Saturday.

For more details on Pressday’s BRC Sires Produce win and to keep up to date with this Saturday’s closing Brisbane Winter Carnival race day, head to Eagle Farm Races. There you will also find the full results of the other features from last weekend including the $400,000 Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) won by long-priced roughie Miss Keepsake.

If you fancy Pressday to make it three from three in the Brisbane winter juvenile features this weekend, head to IASbet to secure the best odds for your TJ Smith betting.

This Saturday Eagle Farm racecourse hosts its first exciting meeting of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival, the Treasury Casino QLD Oaks Day.

One of the highlight events at the meeting will be the $250,000 Group 2 BRC Sire’s Produce Stakes, which has attracted 15 promising two-year-olds.

Likely to start as one of the highly fancied favourites for Saturday is the Chris Waller-trained Pressday. The improving Domesday colt has had four starts for two wins and a place including his impressive last start victory in the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) at Doomben.

Pressday has drawn wide with barrier 11 in the 2010 BRC Sire’s Produce, as have a number of the other favourites, and will be ridden by Jim Cassidy as he heads towards a run in the $500,000 Group 1 T J Smith (1600m) on June 12.

Rosehill-based trainer Waller will also be represented by American Crew, the consistent Stratum gelding jumping from barrier 12 with Kerrin McEvoy aboard.

Another juvenile backing up from a solid run in the Champagne Classic is fourth placegetter Adebisi. Also drawn wide with barrier 11, the Shovhog colt is one of the favourite local hopefuls.

Meanwhile the Lee Freedman-trained Smokin’ Joey, coming off a fifth place in the Classic, has also suffered a blow with a poor barrier 13 draw.

Horses that could cause an upset on Saturday include Anthony Cummings’ up-and-coming Dane Shadow gelding Shadows In The Sun seeking his maiden black type win from barrier nine, and Choisir colt Chosen To Fly looking to improve from their 11th place in the Champagne Classic.

The inside three barriers were drawn by fillies Just Destiny, Molson and Jesse’s Girl

Coming up trumps in the barrier draw were three fine fillies, Just Destiny, Molson and Jesse’s Girl with gates one, two and three respectively.

$400,000 Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) where the country’s finest three-year-old fillies will fight it out. Other drawcards include the $250,000 Group 2 Eagle Farm Cup (2200m), the $200,000 Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) and the $150,000 Group 2 QTC Cup (1300m).

Check out the odds for all of these elite Eagle Farm Races at IASbet today!

This Saturday Eagle Farm hosts their first major meeting of this year’s Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival, the Treasury Casino Queensland Oaks Day.

A major drawcard at the meeting will be the exciting two-year-olds running in the $250,000 Group 2 BRC Sire’s Produce Stakes (1400m).

This year the juveniles’ set weights feature has attracted 21 classy nominations, including the last start winner of the Group 2 Champagne Classic at Doomben, Pressday.

The Chris Waller-trained Domesday colt has had just four career starts for two wins and a place and will be looking to make it back-to-back black type success if they gain a start on Saturday.

Rosehill-based trainer Waller also has Stratum gelding American Crew nominated for the 2010 Sire’s Produce Stakes.

Other Champagne Stakes runners backing up with a run in the Sire’s Produce this weekend include fourth and fifth placegetters Adebisi and Smokin’ Joey.

Lee Freedman’s well bred Encosta De Lago colt Smokin’ Joey took out the Listed Blue Sapphire Stakes on debut before running an eye-catching fifth in the Champagne Classic.

Half-sister to Smokin’ Joey, the David Payne-trained Encosta De Lago filly Bombay is one of the top fillies nominated for the BRC Sire’s Produce.

The BRC Sire’s Produce Stakes is an excellent lead-up race to the feature two-year-olds’ race in Queensland, the $500,000 Group 1 TJ Smith (1600m) held on June 12, and many of Saturday’s hopefuls are on their way towards the TJ Smith.

The final field of acceptances for the 2010 BRC Sire’s Produce Stakes will be announced later in the week and published here. In the meantime check out the odds for the feature Eagle Farm Races on Saturday, including the $400,000 Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2400m), at IASbet now to lock in the best value odds!

It was a prolific win by Yosei, trained by Stuart Webb, in the $300,000 Group 1 AJC Sires Produce Stakes (1400m), held on Saturday at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse.

Ridden by Michelle Payne, the 2010 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes was the first race to be won by a female jockey at the illustrious racecourse.

It was an unexpected win for Caulfield-based Yosei, who defeated Skilled by a half-head, with Hinchinbrook in third in what was an exciting race for spectators.

It was an unexpected win for Caulfield-based Yosei, who defeated Skilled by a half-head, with Hinchinbrook in third.

Favourite going into the 2010 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes was the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Strawberries, who despite looking strong coming into the straight, finished in a surprising seventh place – a disappointing turn out for the filly who will now go for a spell until the Spring.

Finishing fourth, Toorak Toff was impressive in the finish, and is now going to the paddock.

Also taking place on Saturday alongside the 2010 AJC Sires Produce Stakes was the Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m), the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes (1200m) and the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m).

The prestigious Group 3 SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) worth $100,000 in prize money is forming part of the annual South Australian Oaks Day this Saturday at the stunning Morphettville Racecourse.

While Sydney may be host to the illustrious Australian Derby Day, the city of Adelaide is holding the elite Autumn Racing Carnival, and the Group 3 event is just one of eight fantastic races due to jump – showcasing top quality local talent.

The race will see 10 two-year-olds compete, as Toorak Toff has been scratched from the race opting to jump in Sydney at the prolific $300,000 Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m).
Going into the 2010 SAJC Sires’ Produces Stakes as the clear favourite is Stirling Grove at $1.90. The locally based filly recently came second at the Morphettville track in the Group 3 Jansz National Stakes (1200m) to scratched entrant Toorak Toff.

Going into the 2010 SAJC Sires’ Produces Stakes as the clear favourite is Stirling Grove at $1.90.

Closest to Stirling Grove in the odds is the inside barrier-starter Reventon at $3.80. The colt recently beat fellow 2010 SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes starter Life Is A Cabernet in a 1,000 metre sprint at Morphettville – and could be a strong threat to the favourite.

Life Is A Cabernet is coming into the 2010 SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes with odds of $10 and may provide a substantial win for the willing punter, as the filly is yet to start a Group race.

Rounding out the odds for the top favourites is The Ruffian at $5.50 – short odds considering the colt has no Group wins to his name as of yet.
For those looking to place a spare dollar – Sparkling Victory is at $201, and while being a substantial challenge for the gelding the payout would certainly be rewarding.

Also taking place on Saturday at the Morphettville Racecourse will be the $100,000 Group 3 South Australian Oaks (2400m).

So to place a bet on the 2010 SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes, or to check out any of the markets for this weekend’s races, head to SportsBet now!

Forming part of the highly anticipated South Australian Oaks Day, the 2010 SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes will be the fifth of eight races and will see 11 two-year-olds compete.

John Thompson-trained Reventon drew the coveted inside barrier, while the Bill Smart-trained Miners Gem got lumbered with barrier 11.

Trained by Jon O’Connor, Oui Si Attitude is another strong contender having recently defeated Miners Gem.

Thompson’s filly recently won a 1,000 metre race at the South Australian track, and beat fellow starter on Saturday Life Is A Cabernet. The David Hayes-trained horse is looking for her first Group win in the 2010 SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Trained by Jon O’Connor, Oui Si Attitude is another strong contender having recently defeated fellow SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes starter recently – Miners Gem in a 1,300 metre event.

However the Morphettville-based filly lost out to another contender on Saturday – Stirling Grove last month in a 1,000 metre sprint at the Morphettville Racecourse, finishing third.

Also taking place on Saturday alongside the 2010 SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes will be the Group 3 South Australian Oaks (2400m).

The illustrious $300,000 Group 1 AJC Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) will see 12 elite two-year-olds compete for the prolific title when it takes place this Saturday.

As one of nine races taking place at the Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, the Group 1 event is due to jump at 3pm, forming part of the highly anticipated Australian Derby Day.

Randwick-based More Strawberries is coming into the 2010 Sires’ as favourite at $2.25. The filly by More Than Ready finished third in the Group 1 Golden Sliper Stakes (1200m) last week – the top finisher to back up in the AJC Sires Produce Stakes.

Randwick-based More Strawberries is coming into the 2010 Sires’ as favourite at $2.25.

Finishing fourth in the Slipper, Hinchinbrook is chasing the filly’s tail at $3.20, and the two are dominating the odds – the only starters in the single digits.

However punters should be aware of the extra 200 metre distance which neither of the favourites have competed over recently.

Toorak Toff, Blackball and Divorces are all equal in the odds – and closest to the favourites – at $13.

Toorak Toff could be a worthy punt, as the colt has won his last two starts – most recently the Group 3 Jansz National Stakes (1200m).

Rounding out the odds for the 2010 AJC Sires Produce Stakes is the Rick Worthington-trained Gold Arena at $101 – and would provide a lucrative payout if the starter manages to defy the odds!

Also taking place on Saturday at the Randwick Racecourse will be the $1.3 million Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m), the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes (1200m) and the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m).

This Saturday at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse, the Group 1 AJC Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) will be one of the hotly contested events forming part of the illustrious Australian Derby Day.

Due to jump at 3pm as the sixth race of the day, the 2010 AJC Sires Produce Stakes will see 12 two-year-olds compete for the $300,000 prize purse.

Stuart Webb-trained Yosei and Caulfield-based Toorak Toff have drawn barrier one and the outside barrier respectively for Saturday’s race.

The Golden Slipper Stakes is providing two starters in More Strawberries and Hinchinbrook, who finished third and fourth respectively and will both be strong contenders.

Last week’s Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) is providing two starters for the 2010 AJC Sires Produce Stakes in More Strawberries and Hinchinbrook, who finished third and fourth respectively and will both be strong contenders.

Skilled, trained by Peter Snowden is progressing from a Group 3 run last weekend to the Group 1 race this Saturday after winning The Schweppervescence (1400m) over the 1,400 metre distance, and will need to prove himself against this classier field.

Snowden also has runner up of the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) Blackball along with Divorces starting, from barriers 7 and 11 respectively.

Also taking place on Saturday will be the headline event – the Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m), the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes (1200m) and the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m).
